Juliet Mendoza
A native, Dancer, Dj, Artist, and the true heart of the underground House music and Dance culture.
Juliet Mendoza was born in the colorful city of Angels. We can say her musical background begins before she was even born. Having a mother with a professional disco dancing passion, of course, one can only imagine that Juliet would genetically inherit the love of music. She started dance classes at the very young age of 5, with Jazz, Hip hop, Latin, and ballet.
Deep into the rabbit hole of Djing, Juliet’s love for the music takes us back to the mid-’90s, house scene. Becoming a regular in LA house clubs, such as the Arena and Carnival. By her early 20’s she becomes a well-known House Dancer in the Los Angeles underground house scene, attending just about every underground house music party in L.A. By her mid-20s she found herself working as part of the promotions street team for one of the biggest electronic music promotional companies of its time,
“Go Ventures”, who put on festivals such as Monster Massive, Together As One, & The Love Festival (LA)(LV)(HI)(CO).
She is one of the Core Members of the organization “Open House” which gives the dance community in Los Angeles creative shelter where the knowledge of house dance, music philosophy, and club culture is shared in a dance class environment. Providing the community with house dance music workshops and guest speakers.
It is with this vast knowledge, influence, and drive, that Juliet undoubtedly took to the turntables by storm and never looked back.
Juliet Mendoza has shared decks with Doc Martin, Marques Wyatt, Will Reelsoul Rodriguez, Mark Di Meo, Colette, Dj Heather, David Harness, Wayne Williams, Dj Sneak, Paul Johnson, Dj Dan, Kenny Summit, Folamour, Never Dull, Jask, Oscar P, Mark Grant, Demuir, and the music family keeps expanding. Her unique style of delivering melodic, soulful, and deep sounds, has taken Juliet above & beyond the boundaries of Los Angeles and the U.S to headline several international events/venues: NL Club (Amsterdam), Le Reservoir (Paris), Hookah Lounge (MX City), Mi Casa Holiday (MX Tulum), Juicy Beats (Las Vegas).
Having such a deeply rooted connection to LA house music culture naturally gravitated to the records that inspired her to Dj. with residencies at nights such as “Thick”(LA), “Open House” (LA), “FlyBall”(LA) “House on the Eastside”(LA) “Soul Brain”(LA) & “Local Love”(LA) she is also a resident of her own night “Jill’s House” aka “Jackń Jills (LA). There is no doubt that Juliet is a truly driven ambassador to the house music movement.
